The commissioning of Line II of the Bara Grinding Unit in Uttar Pradesh, India, with a cement capacity of 2 mtpa, has been announced by UltraTech Cement Limited. Line I was completed in January 2020 and is currently operating at a capacity utilisation rate of more than 80%.
This expanded capacity will aid the Company in meeting the rapidly increasing cement demand in the country’s Central area.
In addition to this growth, the Company has commissioned 3.2 mtpa of new cement capacity for the financial year 2021-22, bringing its total cement manufacturing capacity in India to 114.55 mtpa.
