The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) to commission and buy solar PV power projects in Tirumala and Tirupati.
The TTD trust board, chaired by Y V Subba Reddy, recently granted the administrative high brass the go-ahead to proceed with the suggestions.
NVVN members agreed to TTD’s suggestions to commission solar power plants at numerous places across the hill town after a series of discussions and inspections.
While NVVN will cover the project’s capital costs, the TTD will donate land for 25 years.
