The eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) that Tripura’s government signed with private parties to promote industries in the northeastern state totaled Rs 312.38 crore, according to the state’s chief minister, Manik Saha.
A medical college with a projected cost of Rs 247 crore will be built under the MoUs in Dhalai, a district having a predominance of tribal people.
Currently, the state is home to two medical schools: the society-run Tripura Medical College (TMC) and the government-run Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC). There is also one dental school.

Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the HIRA model (highways, internet, railway and airway), Saha said the people of Tripura never thought of getting 12 express trains but today it is a reality.
