Thermax Limited has received an Rs. 1,176 crore order from an Indian public sector refinery to build an LSTK-based Sulphur Recovery Block.
The Sulphur Recovery Block consists of two 240 TPD Sulphur Recovery Units (SRUs), a Tail Gas Treatment Unit (TGTU), a 690 TPH Amine Regeneration Unit (ARU), a 200 TPH phenolic Sour Water Stripper, and a 95 TPH non-phenolic Sour Water Stripper.
For emission control, lowering the sulphur level in the refinery’s fuels is critical. The sulphur recovery unit reduces the quantity of sulphur compounds emitted into the environment by converting hydrogen sulphide gas created during the operation to elemental sulphur.
The Sulphur Recovery Block will be installed as part of a refinery expansion project for a client.
