At Karnataka’s Khursapur hamlet of Shiggaon taluk in Haveri district, a textile park will be built. Basavaraj Bommai, the state’s chief minister, lay the park’s foundation stone and that of Texport Industries Pvt. Ltd.’s garment factory last week.
For the textile manufacturers and ready-made clothing factories, infrastructure facilities would be built in three stages.
The state government has allocated 25 crore for the project’s initial phase, which would eventually encompass more than 59.34 acres.
According to official media sources, the Texport business will be built under the anchor-promoter model and receive a 42 crore investment.
“In the coming three to four years, every taluk of the state will have a textile park for the help of local farmers and their educated children,” the chief minister said.
