The Geotech, Protech, Indutech, Sustainable Textiles, Sportech, and Buildtech segments are just a few of the important strategic areas where the Ministry of Textile has sanctioned 20 R&D projects totaling 61.09 crore.
After the National Technical Textiles Mission’s 6th Mission Steering Group (MSG) meeting, which was hosted by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, the allocation was made public.
Goyal stated that in order to discover high value & high volume potential goods to catalyse research and innovation in Technical Textiles in India, international benchmarking, discussions with the industry, and demand assessment are crucial.
“Ministry of Textiles approved 20 R&D projects worth ₹61.09 crore across key strategic areas of Geotech, Protech, Indutech, Sustainable Textiles, Sportech, Buildtech segments and Specialty Fibres (Carbon Fibre and Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene) during the 6th MSG meeting,” an official statement said.
