Tamilnadu, which is home to Vikram Solar’s new PV gigafab, may also be home to Tata Power Solar’s 4 GW solar plant.
According to a source, Tata Power’s solar arm is close to reaching an agreement with the Tamil Nadu government for its projected 4GW integrated solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing site in the state. According to reports, a Tata Power solar fab will be built near Tirunelveli at Gangaikondan.
“The investment by Tata would be around Rs 3,000 crore (US$403 million) with an employment potential of 2,000 locals,” it is reported.
