Under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) plan for the automobile industry, the Centre has approved 20 businesses, including Tata Motors, Suzuki Motor Gujarat, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, and Kia India Pvt.
In the four-wheeler segment, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Motors Ltd, PCA Automobiles India, and Pinnacle Mobility Solutions have all been certified.
According to a statement from the ministry of heavy industries, the vehicle PLI scheme was a major success in terms of response, with the government receiving investment proposals worth Rs 45,016 crore from authorised applicants.
In the two- and three-wheeler sectors, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Piaggio Vehicles, and TVS Motor Company are among the successful candidates.
