Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) plans to complete the existing power projects by 2024.
According to one estimate, the state’s electricity demand hit a new high of 17,563 MW per day this year. Following this, TANGEDCO anticipated that in the following ten years, demand would reach roughly 24,000 MW.
To meet this demand, the state-owned power provider has stepped up efforts to accelerate the commissioning of all active power projects.
TANGEDCO is expected to generate 3,960 MW more everyday after completing projects in North Chennai, Ennore, Udangudi, Kundah, and Kolli hills in the financial year 2024, according to a senior official.
