Tamilnadu govt gives 130 acres of land to Taiwan footwear major

Tamilnadu government has allotted 130 acres to the Taiwanese footwear manufacturing company Hong Fu Industrial Group in the Ranipet district of the Special Economic Zone.

One of the top shoe manufacturers in the world, the Taiwanese company Hong Fu Industrial Group, signed an agreement with the government of Tamil Nadu on April 7, 2022, to invest Rs 1,000 crore over the following three to five years in a production facility in the state.

The Hong Fu group was subsequently given 125 acres from the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and 5 acres for household use in Panappakkam, Ranipet district, by the state government.

Minister for Industries Thangam Thennarasu handed over the allotment order of the land to TY Chang, Chairman – Hong Fu Industrial Group of Taiwan at the Secretariat.
