Tamil Nadu and Karnataka get approval for eight floating jetty projects

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has granted in-principle clearance to four floating jetty projects in Karnataka as well as four more floating jetty projects in Tamil Nadu as part of its Sagarmala Programme.

There are now a total of 11 floating jetty projects in Karnataka after the addition of these four new projects. These projects, which will be used for tourism, are mostly situated on the Gurupura and Netravati rivers. According to a statement issued by the government, the other locations include Thannir Bhavi Church, Bangra Kuluru, Kulur Bridge, and Jappina Mogaru NH bridge.

Additionally, the ministry has provided in-principle approval to four floating jetty projects in Tamil Nadu. The projects at Agni Thertham and Villoondi Theertham are located in Rameshwaram which is a renowned spiritual place in India.
