Sweden likely to invest ₹15,000 crore in UP

Swedish businesspeople are interested in making investments in Uttar Pradesh totaling 15,000 crore. The business intentions were submitted during the Wednesday Stockholm Investment Roadshow, according to a release.

Nand Gopal Gupta, the minister of industries, and Jitin Prasada, the minister of public works, led a state delegation there and extended an invitation to Swedish corporations to participate in the UP’s Global Investors Summit in 2023.

Sweden has decided to invest in India’s Uttar Pradesh. The roadshow resulted in the filing of investment intentions for Film City, retail, tourism, and waste management, according to the statement. Ikea submitted a notice of intent to expand its business in Uttar Pradesh with plans to invest 4,300 crore to build luxury malls and retail spaces in Noida and other towns.

“Sweden has selected UP as its investment destination in India. Investment intents for Film City, retail, tourism, and waste management were filed at the roadshow,” the statement said.

Ikea filed an intent to expand its venture in UP as they plan to invest ₹4,300 crore for setting up its retail stores and luxury malls in Noida, among other cities.

“Swedish construction company, Serneke, intends to invest ₹10,000 crore in the Film City project in Uttar Pradesh,” it said.
