Suzuki Motor Corporation revealed plans to open a new research and development (R&D) facility in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the cornerstone for the company’s electric vehicle battery production facility in Hansalpur, Gujarat.
Modi set the cornerstones for the EV battery unit at Hansalpur and Maruti Suzuki’s future manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana, during a ceremony at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
An estimated Rs 7,300 crore would be spent on the construction of the facility at Hansalpur. It would produce electric vehicle batteries with cutting-edge chemistry.
