A 74MWp Open Access Solar Power Plant in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli area was built by Sunsure Energy. By the time this project is finished on September 25th, 2022, Sunsure will have installed solar capacity totaling more than 250 MW throughout 16 Indian States.
This project, which will provide around 12 crore units of green energy annually to some of Tamil Nadu’s top enterprises, has Sunsure as its EPC partner. Industrial customers who have signed long-term open access power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Cleantech Solar will use the energy.
This solar power plant was constructed using the “Solar Park” construction method, in which separate solar power plants are set up for each industrial customer using the plant’s energy.
All these plants will evacuate power into the 400kV Kanarpatty Substation at Tirunelveli of TNEB through a common 230 kV Transmission Line.
“Procuring green power through the Open Access model is the most efficient option for large industrial customers in Tamil Nadu to migrate to sustainably powering operations. Having a common extra high voltage (EHV) evacuation system allows us to reduce power expenditures for customers while simultaneously assuring high availability and reliability,” stated Umakant Shende, Vice President & Country Head – India, Cleantech Solar India.
