Sterlite Power has announced that its Lakadia-Vadodara Transmission Project, Gujarat’s largest green energy corridor, has been successfully launched. According to a release, the project seeks to transmit more than 5,000 MW of energy from the renewable-rich districts of Bhuj and Kutch to the national grid, advancing India’s transformation to a greener economy. Lakadia-Vadodara Transmission Project Ltd. (LVTPL), a major power transmission project in Brazil and India, has been officially commissioned, according to Sterlite Power. A 335-kilometer long 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connects the 765/400 kV substation at Lakadia to Vadodara as part of an inter-state transmission project, which cost Rs 2,024 crore to build. With 812 towers spanning seven districts in Gujarat, this transmission corridor is also one of the largest in India till date, it claimed.
