The four Sipcot industrial parks located in the Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, and Tirupur districts opened new buildings holding additional facilities.
The structures were inaugurated by chief minister M K Stalin.
At the Sipcot IT park in Siruseri on OMR, one of the new facilities built at a cost of 48 crore is a trade facilitation centre for exporters.
The centre, which covers 85,000 square feet, was constructed for a cost of 35 crore.
In addition, for the benefit of students studying biotechnology, the state-owned Tidco Centre for Life Sciences has signed an MoU with five academic and research institutes.
A statement said, a new hostel constructed by SIPCOT in an area of 41,082sqft to accommodate 400 male workers was inaugurated in Tirupur. Two fire and rescue services stations at the Sipcot industrial parks in Siruseri and Irungattukottai were unveiled.
