St. Thomas Mount railway station in Chennai to become multi-modal hub

The final phase of the MRTS line from St. Thomas Mount to Adambakkam is anticipated to be finished by April, transforming the station into a multimodal centre for south Chennai.

Beach-Chengalpattu suburban line, St. Thomas Mount-Beach MRTS, and Central-St. Thomas Mount metro line are all located in the station’s first three floors, respectively.

Additionally, St. Thomas Mount railway station will be connected to the Madhavaram-Sholinganallur metro line, which is currently under Phase II of construction.

Commuters from Chengalpattu, Guduvancheri, Maraimalainagar, and other areas can switch to the MRTS line at St. Thomas Mount to reach Velachery, Adyar, Mylapore, and Tharamani once construction on the 475m rail line between Adambakkam and St. Thomas Mount stations is finished.
