According to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia, sixteen new airports will be built across five states in central India: Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
The Minister stated that one airport is planned in each of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, two in Maharashtra, three in Chhattisgarh, and nine in Uttar Pradesh, while speaking at the PM-Gati Shakti Conference (Virtual) for the Central Zone.
Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), Ambikapur, Bilaspur, and Jagdalpur are among the names that have been announced (all Chhattisgarh).
