The Indian division of ArcelorMittal has placed a supply contract for 166MW wind turbines with Siemens Gamesa.
The wind farm is located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Siemens Gamesa has promised to provide 46 of its SG 3.6-145 wind turbines to the project.
One of ArcelorMittal’s steel plants will be powered by clean energy produced by the farm, helping the sector’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the nation.
The agreement was made with ArcelorMittal and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture known as AM Green Energy Private Limited (AMGEPL).
