The industrial manufacturer Siemens Ltd. announced that it had established a bogies production facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, a state in western India.
According to a press statement from Siemens, the manufacturing will meet the growing demand for bogies not only in India but also internationally. According to the company, it would deliver more than 200 bogies for the first export contract.
According to a statement made by Siemens, the bogies that will be produced at the Aurangabad site are “based on the proven worldwide design concept from Siemens – SF30 Combino Plus that offers best-in-class passenger experience and simplified maintenance.”
Sunil Mathur, the chief executive officer and managing director of Siemens’ India arm, said the setting up of the bogies manufacturing facility in Aurangabad is a “significant milestone” for the company.
