The tender for the installation of 500 MW/1000 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems has been launched by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) (BESS).
The procurement is the first step toward the government’s immediate goal of installing 4,000 MWh of battery storage capacity to boost renewable energy penetration in the national grid.
The tender for the installation of 500 MW/1000 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in India has been issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a PSU under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
This is the country’s first tender of its sort, and it will give distribution businesses with on-demand storage facilities.
