In the 11th nationwide wind power auction held recently, Sembcorp Industries’ wholly owned company in India was formally granted a 180-megawatt (MW) wind power project.
Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Limited has obtained the project’s letter of award from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Karnataka is the proposed location for the project. The project’s power output will be sold to SECI under a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement after it is completed.
SECI is a business set up by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to help with the implementation of the National Solar Mission.
