Satguru Thinners, a company based in India, is planning to establish a new fractional distillation plant in Industrial Focal Point Phase-I, Goindwal Sahib, Punjab. The aim of the project is to produce industrial solvents and petrochemicals using the fractional distillation method to purify and separate organic and petroleum solvents based on their boiling points. The new plant is expected to have a capacity of producing 92000 TPA of Industrial Solvents/Thinners/Reducers, Special Boiling Point Solvents, De-aromatized Solvents, Aromatic Solvents, and Mineral oil-20/50. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.56.5 million, and the construction activities are scheduled to start in August 2023 and end in March 2024. The company has already submitted the proposal with its Terms of Reference (ToR) to the Ministry of Environment and Forests as of February 2023. However, the project will commence only after obtaining the final environmental clearance, subject to the state pollution control board’s consent based on the rules framework.
