Salcom to produce electrical automobile chargers at Sriperumbudur plant

Salcom, a Finnish company that makes chargers and adapters for mobile devices including smartphones and other portable electronics, will produce electrical automobile (EV) chargers at the Sriperumbudur plant.

An agreement about the IIT Madras Analysis Park was inked by the IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) and Flotrick. Salcomp is Flowtrik’s partner in special manufacturing (sourcing) and business development. Flowtrik creates chargers for Li-ion, Super Lead Acid, and other distinct batteries used in electric vehicles.

“We’re manufacturing EV batteries for the US market. Nevertheless, for the primary time, we’re coming into this section for the Indian market by way of this partnership,” Sasikumar Gendham, managing director of Salcomp India, instructed reporters at IIT Analysis Park Ashok Jhunjhunwala.
