Sairaj Industries, a company based in Maharashtra, is planning to undertake a new grain-based ethanol project in Sangli, Maharashtra. The proposed project aims to manufacture grain-based ethanol, specifically undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcoholic strength by volume of 80% or higher, with a production capacity of 60 KLPD (Kilo Liters per day). The manufacturing of grain-based ethanol has a significant role to play in the production of biofuels, which are environmentally friendly and renewable. The project will contribute towards the country’s vision of increasing the use of biofuels and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources of energy. The company has filed an industrial entrepreneurs’ memorandum in November 2022, which is a mandatory filing for companies to register their investment intentions with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in India. As of March 2023, the project is in the planning stage, and the company is likely to take various necessary steps to ensure a smooth implementation of the project.
