Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, announced that one of the largest gem and jewellery parks in the world will be built in Navi Mumbai at a cost of Rs 60,000 crore.
According to the minister’s tweet, this gems and jewellery park, which spans 80 acres of land, will be the largest facility of its kind in the entire nation. It will be a manufacture to retail park of its kind.
“Spread over more than 80 acre (25 acre in Phase 1), this will be one of the largest Gem and Jewellery parks in the World,” he tweeted.
Fadnavis further said that a few days ago, a delegation of India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA) met him with a proposal of setting up a state of the art Gems & Jewellery Park in Navi Mumbai. The facility is expected to generate a total employment of over 1 lakh for both skilled and unskilled professionals.
