The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is now focusing on an 11.5-kilometer subterranean segment of the regional rapid rail transit system (RRTS) corridor that runs through Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
Officials claimed the business has already begun constructing machines for the projected tunnel work, which is expected to begin in two months. The 4.5-kilometer subterranean tunnel will run from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Sahibabad, with the last stretch in Meerut.
“Unlike the tunnel work undertaken by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), this is going to present an engineering challenge for us owing to the high speed of the rapid rail,” said Puneet Vats, chief public relations officer, NCRTC.
