Roca plans Rs 50-crore capital expenditure in India

Spanish sanitaryware giant Roca would invest roughly Rs.50 crore in growth while developing a greenfield project in India in 2024/2025.

According to a top executive of the Indian subsidiary Roca Bathroom Products Pvt Ltd the firm is selling to markets such as Australia and others that were formerly handled by Roca’s China operations.

“In 2021, we plan to invest Rs.50 crore in expanding our faucet and plastic product manufacturing facilities. By 2024/2025, we’re also considering acquisitions and greenfield expansion “Roca Bathroom’s Managing Director, K.E. Ranganathan said.

According to him, Roca China’s expertise with the Covid-19 aided the Indian firm in 2020 in ensuring the safety of its employees.

“In China, Roca has eight factories. They had advised us on social distancing at factories, canteen and other places, disinfecting and others. We also told the workers and employees about the safety measures to be taken at home. This helped us to restart production at all our eight factories when the unlocking happened last year,” Ranganathan said.
