RITES files DPR for two corridors of BMRCL

Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has filed the detailed project report (DPR) for two corridors (Phase 3A) to BMRCL, kicking off Namma Metro’s phase 3 project.

BMRCL planned in 2020 to prioritise two corridors (Phase 3A): the 13-kilometer Magadi Road (Hosahalli-Kadabagere) and the 32-kilometer JP Nagar 4th Phase to Hebbal. The DPR for these two corridors was prepared by RITES as part of Phase 3A.

For Phase 3A, a total of 40 stations are planned. BMRCL managing director Anjum Parwez stated on Thursday that RITES had filed the DPR, but refused to provide any other information. He remarked, “It’s preliminary and susceptible to change.” By 2027-2028, Phase 3A is projected to be operational.

Meanwhile, BMRCL is evaluating bids for preparing DPR for the 36-km Metro line (Phase 3B) between Sarjapur and Hebbal. This section will have 29 stations, which includes 14 underground and 15 elevated.
