RecycLiCo Battery Materials signs MoU with Sonid Inc for battery recycling facility

A contract has been signed between RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. and Sonid Inc., a Korean electronics manufacturer focused on the development of new lithium-ion battery recycling and upcycling technologies. The agreement is a good first step toward a prospective business partnership or technology licence agreement including RecycLiCo’s technology.

The agreement lays out the business plan and strategic alliance for developing a lithium-ion battery recycling factory. Plans for the commercial collection, pretreatment, and hydrometallurgical processing of used batteries will be undertaken by both businesses. The expansion of both businesses’ operations and contribution to the long-term viability of the lithium-ion battery supply chain will be made possible by this alliance.

“RecycLiCo is a company with excellent lithium-ion battery recycling technology. We are excited to work with them to bring this technology to the Korean market through a commercial joint venture or technology licensing arrangement. This partnership will allow us to increase the efficiency and sustainability of our operations, and we look forward to working with RecycLiCo to establish a lithium-ion battery recycling facility,” says Choi Si-Myung, CEO of Sonid.
