Purvanchal Expressway to be extended to Bhagalpur: Nitin

The Purvanchal Expressway, which runs from Lucknow to Buxar, will now be extended to Bhagalpur through Patna, according to state road building minister Nitin Nabin.

According to him, a central government team will visit the state shortly to assess its viability and give a report to the government.

In a meeting in New Delhi, Nitin and Giridhar Armani, secretary of the union ministry of road transport and national highways, achieved an agreement on the expansion of this expressway under the Bharatmala project and other outstanding works on national highways running through the state.

Nitin said all pending works of construction of the nationals highways in the state would be expedited and completed within a time frame. “The central ministry has issued direction for completion of the Koilwar-Bihta four-lane highway from its fund,” he added.
