The long-awaited expansion of the road on the Pune-Mumbai highway segment might begin soon now that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been given permission to use military property for the project.
“For around five years, the project was unable to get off the ground due to a lack of land. We obtained a document from the Defense Department granting us permission to work on the property “According to V G Kulkarni, the head of the PMC’s road department.
According to PMC authorities, the 10.4-acres of defence property will aid in boosting the road’s width from 21 to 42 metres. From Central Hatchery in Khadki to Harris Bridge, a 2.1-kilometer length will be enlarged.
