Regional hospital network Sahyadri Hospitals, situated in Pune and owned by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension strategy Board, has a $750 million expansion strategy in place to double its capacity over the next three to four years through both organic growth and acquisition
Sahyadri’s ninth hospital, a 100-bed facility in Hadapsar, Pune, bringing the total number of beds in its network to 1,021 beds.
In an interview, Abrarali Dalal, director and CEO of Sahyadri Hospitals, stated, “We aim to become a rest-of-Maharashtra brand (outside Mumbai). We are evaluating expansion potential across Pimpri Chinchwad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, Solapur, and Kolhapur, before contemplating other states.
“There is a demand-supply mismatch in terms of high quality healthcare infrastructure in the interiors of Maharashtra, which we want to fill,” Dalal said.
