Officials said a public hearing was held in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district for Jindal Steel Works’ proposed integrated steel factory.
JSW has proposed a Rs 50,000 crore “world-class” 12-million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) complex, a 900 MW power plant, and a captive port on 3,000 acres of land.
The administration chose the POSCO site near the port town of Paradip as the location for the JSW project after the South Korean steel corporation withdrew its intended mega steel project.
