Power Minister lays foundation stone for Power grid’s Ara substation to add capacity

R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, laid the cornerstone for the expansion of the 220/132 kV Power grid Ara substation.

The project will raise the substation’s overall transformation capacity to 560 MVA.

According to Singh, the effort would hasten Ara’s growth and, through a robust electricity infrastructure, accelerate the region’s economic and social development.

“This initiative would facilitate meeting the demand for electricity for the next 10 years in Ara,” he added.

The augmentation of Power grid Ara substation will lead to uninterrupted power supply, which will further strengthen Ara’s connectivity with the national grid.

The substation will provide power to the Bhojpur, Buxar, and Rohtas districts, leading to industrial and commercial development of the area.
