Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan cut the ribbon on the Arippara Hydroelectric Project, which was completed by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) and would generate 14 million units of power per year.
Vijayan, speaking virtually at the inaugural ceremony, remarked, “Renewable energy sources should not be used exclusively for power generating. In the previous five years, the left-wing government has initiated a slew of domestic power generation projects.”
He also stated that, in order to make Kerala a power surplus state, the capacity of hydropower projects will be expanded and these projects will be implemented in an environmentally sustainable manner.
