The development of a 30 KTA primary and specialised plasticizer production facility in Tamil Nadu has been announced by Payal Group, one of India’s top producers of plasticizers and chlorinated paraffins.
An MOU was signed with BPCL for the supply of oxy-alcohols from its Kochi plant in the presence of S Jena, Executive Director (I&C), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, S Srinivasan, Executive Director, Sales (I&C), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Nikhil Chandra Gupta, Managing Director, Payal Group.
The southern part of India will house the country’s first primary plasticizers facility.
The primary inputs for the wire and cable, footwear, and coir mat industries, among other uses, are phthalate-free plasticizers and other REACH compliant specialty plasticizers, which will be the focus of this plant’s production.
The entire plasticizer capacity of the Payal Group, which now has 180 KTA at its Daman and Dahej facilities, will rise to 210 KTA with the commissioning of this project by the second half of 2023.
