The Vindhyan Basin, is being commercialised by ONGC. This would be India’s ninth producing basin, and ONGC’s eighth. This follows the dedication of the eighth Indian Basin, the Bengal Basin, to the country on December 20, 2020.
Hatta#3 was drilled as an exploratory well with the goal of determining commercial potential through extensive testing and the acquisition of reservoir-specific data. The Son valley area of Madhya Pradesh is home to the Well Hatta#3.
The well produced approximately 62,044 cubic metres of gas per day during testing, demonstrating the Proterozoic Basin’s production potential for the first time in India. On this historic occasion on March 29, 2022, ONGC Director (Exploration) R K Srivastava personally oversaw the testing activities at the well-site.
