NTT Ltd HAS announced the opening of a new hyperscale data centre facility in Navi Mumbai, with the first data centre dubbed NAV1A.
NTT now has 12 data centres in the nation, totaling more than 2.5 million square feet and 220 MW of facility power.
With the upcoming introduction of 5G services and the completion of the Myanmar/ Malaysia India Singapore Transit (MIST) underwater cable, NTT Ltd. in India is also looking to grow into the edge data centre ecosystem in India through a joint venture, according to Sharad Sanghi, Managing Director.
The announcement comes shortly after a new data centre opened at the Chandivali project, India’s first operational hyperscale data centre site.
