The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) will be conducting a feasibility study and biometry for establishing a floating solar power plant of 130 megawatts (MWs) on Dumbur lake in the Gomati district of Tripura in light of an agreement signed between the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA).
According to Debabrata Sukladas, Joint Director of TREDA, the NTPC would inspect the water body where a floating solar power plant would be installed.
It had issued a tender, and this month, a designated agency will send representatives to undertake the study in Tripura’s Dumbur Lake. The Corporation will also choose transmission stations and plan for clearing forests.
Within two months and for a cost of Rs. 450 crore, the central PSU will complete the survey of Tripura’s first renewable energy plant
