The largest power producer in India, NTPC Ltd., is moving forward with the building of its first coal-fired plant in roughly six years as the need for the dirtiest fossil fuel increases due to the global energy crisis.
According to those with knowledge of the situation, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. submitted the lowest proposal for the construction of the 1,320 megawatt plant in the eastern state of Odisha.
According to the persons, who asked not to be identified because the information has not yet been made public, NTPC is currently debating whether the state-run engineering business can speed up the project’s timeline.
