NTPC Ltd, India’s largest integrated energy producer, has issued a request for proposals for the development of 900MW of solar parks in Cuba. The solar parks will be located at 175 different places throughout the island nation’s 15 provinces. Cuba is a member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), a group of 121 tropical nations based in Gurugram, India.
The ISA has offered help to the Cuban government’s Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) for the development of solar power capacity.
NTPC is an ISA corporate partner with a total capacity of 67.9GW spanning coal, gas, hydro, solar, and wind projects. Last year, the energy company was selected as a preferred partner to assist with the implementation of the Cuban solar project.
