Norton Abrasives inaugurates its paper maker plant in Bengaluru

The Saint-Gobain Group‘s Grindwell Norton Ltd. (GNO), the country’s oldest and largest abrasive company, has opened a paper maker production facility in Bengaluru.

The Paper Maker plant’s production capabilities under Atmanirbhar Bharat present a significant potential to introduce “Make in India” products that are cutting-edge and unique.

Hari Singudasu – Vice President of Abrasives (Grindwell Norton Ltd.), Saint-Gobain said, “This plant will cater to emerging high growth needs in construction, furniture and automotive industries. The plant will enable us to provide solutions for high growth market in India, Middle East and ASEAN.”

This state-of-the-art plant is equipped with IOT enabled control systems to ensure minimum wastage levels, reduce CO2 emissions, by incorporating Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer and recover heat, improve fuel efficiency, and consistency. As a first, it employs women technicians in the operating team, trained in safety, quality, and operational excellence.
