Ekka Electronics, a consumer electronics business, announced that it will invest Rs 1,000 crore to build a facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where it would start producing items including washing machines, smart watches, hearables, and TWS (true wireless stereo).
According to the company’s director Sagar Gupta, the Noida plant, in which it will invest Rs 400 crore by July of this year for the purchase of land, equipment, development of the facility, etc., would house a full backward integration as well as internal design and manufacturing solutions.
The factory will produce TVs as well as other items like washing machines, smart watches, hearables, and TWS.
The company now has a setup in Sonipat, Haryana for the production of set-top boxes and LED TVs with screens up to 43 inches.
