NHAI’s mega green plan between Ghaziabad and Kanpur

Ghaziabad residents will soon have more handy options for travelling to Kanpur. For, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct a 380 km long Green Field Motorway as part of the Green Highway Policy.

Nine districts will be traversed by the four-lane motorway, which will cut the distance between the two cities’ travel times in half to just 3.5 hours.

At the moment, the Yamuna Motorway transports passengers from Ghaziabad to Kanpur in about 6 hours. Starting in Ghaziabad, the greenfield corridor will connect Kanpur with Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, and Unnao.

According to Jagran, the Lion Engineering Consultant Agency of Bhopal has been tasked with creating the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The company’s engineers will now carry out a survey.

After the DPR is prepared, it will be sent to the NHAI for approval. After the DPR is approved, the process of land acquisition will start. The NHAI plans to start the construction of the expressway after securing 90% of the land for the project.
