The Vijayawada-Bengaluru Expressway project, which will be 342-kilometers long, has been put out to bid by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
The project will be broken up into 14 packages, and the NHAI has asked for bids for four of them.
The Hybrid Annuity Model was used by the NHAI to call bids for the first four packages (HAM).
The Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway project includes the Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Greenfield Access Controlled Corridor.
An estimated Rs 19,200 crore would be spent on the construction of the expressway.
According to projections, the expressway will cut down on travel time between Vijayawada and Bengaluru significantly. The projected BKV (Bangalore-Kadapa-Vijayawada) Expressway is expected to cut the time it takes to travel between Vijayawada and Bengaluru from about 12 hours to six.
