- The Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) and the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) are planning to set up new integrated waste-to-energy facilities at NDMC’s landfill site at Ranikhera in Narela, New Delhi. The plant will process municipal solid waste (MSW) and organic waste of NDMC for producing compressed biogas (CBG), recycling plastics, refuse derived fuel (RDF) for producing plastic or syngas and its downstream products, plastics recycling, etc. As of January 2021, IndianOil and NDMC entered a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the project.
- Dehradun Waste Management is planning to take up new RDF based waste to energy plant in Shishambada, Vikasnagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The project involves setting up RDF Based Waste to Energy Plant in Municipal Solid Waste Processing & Disposal Facility in an area of 8.323 hectares. DWMPL has executed memorandum of undertaking with the state government of uttarakhand for setting of 300 TPD Refuse derived fuel (RDF) based Waste to Energy Plant within the existing IMSWMF plant with capacity of 6 MW in an area of 1.734 hectares. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1239.6 million. As of January 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- Syntech Bioenergy is planning to take up new waste to energy plant in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The project involves setting up of energy power plant would generate 5 MW of electricity by consuming 500 MT of waste that Srinagar city produces every day. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.2000 million. The mode of implementation of the project is on PPP (DBFOT) route. On February 2021, this project is civil work underway and concessionaire appointed. The consultant of this project is Tide Technocrats Private Limited, Contractor Partner is Syntech Bioenergy Private Limited, Sub-Contractor is Astrix Infra Private Limited, Supplier is Keystone Energy Systems LLP and Collaborator-Influencer is Syed Gazanffar Abbas Safvi and Praveen Gupta and Sahil B Bhat. As of March 2021, project proponent has filed petition before JERC for adoption of rates.
- Sarda Energy And Minerals is planning to take up WHRB based electricity generation in Vill: Neonara, Berla, Bemetara, Dist: Mungeli, Chattisgarh. The project involves electricity generation through Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB) with capacity of 30 MW. The company has filed industrial entrepreneurs’ memorandum on November 2020. As of April 2021, the project is in planning stage.
- Hyderabad MSW Energy Solutions is planning to take up RDF based waste to energy power plant expansion project in Jawaharnagar Village, Kapra Mandal, Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana. The project involves augmentation and expansion of RDF based waste to energy power plant from 19.8 to 48 MW. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.5520 million. As of August 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
