- Maan Steel and Power is planning to take up sponge iron expansion project in Jamuria Industrial Estate, Mouza-Ikhra, P.O. Nandi, Burdwan, West Bengal. The project involves enhancement of sponge iron production from 117,000 to 177,000 TPA, billet production from 192,000 to 318,000 TPA, power generation from 12 to 27 MW and installation of 1.2 MTPA pellet plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.6156.4 million. As of February 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- Vinayak Metal and Power is planning to take up New Sponge Iron Plant in Akkenapally Village, Narketpally Mandal, Nalgonda, Telangana. The project involves setting up of a new Sponge Iron Plant with Pellet Plant, MS Billets (IF) and Captive Power generation by utilizing the Waste Heat Recovery from DRI Kiln for production of 0.022 mTPA of Pellization plant, Sponge Iron – 3 x 150 = 450 TPD DRI Kilns to produce Sponge Iron of 148500 TPA, Induction Furnace of 1 x 30 = 30 T to produce M.S. Billets of 99000 TPA and Captive power generation through WHRB (Waste Heat Recovery from DRI Kilns) – 3 x 4 = 12 MW plant.. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1300 million. On March 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway. As of July 2021, submission of ADS reply and revised Terms of Reference documentation for environmental clearance documentation of proposed Sponge Iron plant.
- Airan Steel & Power is planning to take up steel plant expansion project in Silpahari Industrial Area, Village -Hardikala, Tehsil -Bilha, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The project involves expansion of steel plant by increasing the existing 100 TPD sponge iron production from 30,000 TPA to 33,000 TPA by increase in operating days from 300 to 330, establishment of new DRI Kiln of 1 x 100 TPD for sponge iron production of 33,000 TPA, WHRB based Power Plant of 4.0 MW & AFBC based Power Plant of 6.0 MW, Ferro Alloys Unit of 1 x 10 MVA to produce SiMn – 16,500 TPA (or) FeMn- 23,760 TPA (or) FeSi – 8,250 TPA (or) Pig Iron – 26,730 TPA. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.680 million. As of April 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- Sri Subramanya Sponge Iron is planning to take up new sponge iron plant in Haraginadoni, Bellary, Karnataka . The project involves establishment of 300 TPD sponge iron plant (1X 100 TPD and 2×100 TPD) and 3 MW Captive Power Plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.490 million. As of April 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- Shreegopal Govind Sponge is planning to take up Sponge iron production expansion project in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal. The project involves expansion of Sponge Iron production from 49500 TPA to 122100 TPA (3 x 50 TPD Kiln-Existing and 1 x 220 TPD-Expansion) additional facility for Ferro Alloy plant (16000 TPA) with Installation of 9 MVA SAF along with Captive Power plant of 12 MW. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1218.5 million. As of May 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
