Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway Phase-I to be opened for public on 15 August

Fast-moving construction is being done on the Mumbai-Nagpur Super-Communication Expressway, and Phase-I of the project would be opened on August 15, 2022.

Nearly 500 kilometres separate Nagpur and Shirdi on the project’s initial leg. The Mumbai-Shirdi portion of the expressway is currently being constructed, and completion is anticipated in 2023.

Additionally, the Sewree-Nhava Sheva sealink project is moving very quickly. The opening of the more than 200 km length between Nagpur and Shelu market in Washim was originally scheduled for May 2, but it was delayed due to damage to several precast concrete arches during installation on an animal bridge close to Nagpur.

Once fully operational, the expressway, being undertaken by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), will reduce the travel time between the two cities from 14-15 hours to nearly eight hours.
