Parliament was informed that the Ministry of Road Transport and Roadways (MoRTH) had completed 8,045 km of highways through its different implementing agencies up to February 2022 during the current financial year.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) are in charge of building National Highways and expressways throughout India.
Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari stated in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha that the ministry built 10,237 kilometres in 2019-20, 13,327 kms in 2020-21, and 8,045 kms in the current financial year 2021-22 up to February.
